Corporate bond primary markets have seen rapid post-summer supply, with YTD investment grade issuance reaching USD 3.41tr. UBS recommends selective participation across recent euro-denominated corporate and financial issues offering attractive carry and spread-tightening potential.
Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, corporate borrowers have rushed into primary debt markets, taking advantage of receptive conditions to lock in financing before potential interest rate increases. Investment grade corporate issuance hit USD 307bn in August and reached USD 336bn through late September, led by European financials and industrials. While repeated supply from tech hyperscalers has widened their spreads, the broader IG market continues to clear smoothly with strong book coverage. UBS highlights 13 attractive and fair new EUR issues across financials, defensive consumer staples, healthcare, transportation, and cyclical mining names.
